Is Access limited to a single CPU core during import ?

I was recently importing a large amount of data and noticed that only 1 CPU core was being utilized and the others were just idling. Needless to say the import took about 12hrs to complete which I would like to improve upon if possible.

Is this normal for Access 2013 or is there something I can do to improve upon this?
