Stop two people editing the same record

Hi new to access, created database for a charity to record phone calls. I want to be able to stop two people editing the same record. I think I need to use vba but not sure how. Ta PaulPaul

I think I didn't get you..could you please be a bit clear with your query?
Do you say that, in the database, once a user creates a record, another user cannot edit the record? Do you mean this?

I have a small database and in it I have a form called detail. When one person opens this form I want to stop anyone else editing the record until the first person has closed the form. Hope that helps
