Question How to determine the character set of content in text fields?

    Hi there,
we have a multi-language environment for users globally. They create/change records based on the local language (Russian, English, German, Japanese, etc.). I need to determine which records were entered using the standard Latin character set (English, German, etc.) and which ones are non-Latin (Japanese, Russian, Hebrew, etc.).
Is there a way I can create a Query that would calculate(?) the character set used/checking the characters in a field and producing an output in another field (Latin/non-Latin/mixed)?

    Help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks

Oops, this might be reading text files.... not data in fields in a table.
