    Email new record

    Hi,

I'm working on a database to create service tickets for a small IT Department. I've created a form that would be sent via email using the collect data option. The thing is that I want to send an auto-response email each time a new record is created to the person(IT user) submitting the data. What is the best approach for this? Sorry if I sound like a newbie, I'm in fact a newbie in the access world. Any input would be highly appreciatted.

    Thanks,

    O

By auto-response you mean you get confirmation email when the person opens the email?

Maybe send the email from code in the form AfterUpdate event. Review

Don't know if email can be set for 'auto-response'. This is the closest I can find that might pertain http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ffice.11).aspx

Be aware that CollectData functionality is removed from Access 2013.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
