Open Form or Command Button problem

    Hi Guys

I'm new to the site, so please bear with me if this question has been asked before.

I have created a database to assist in tracking projects and have created a query to show all the open projects. I need to select the relevant project and open a form to show all the data for that project.

I've created the button for this and chosen to open specific data (ie. matching 'project_id' to 'project_id) ... however, when this button is clicked access shows all of the records. It takes me to the first record and will allow me to scroll through the open records but not to go to the specific record of my choosing.

I have very limited experience with VB so would appreciate a simple answer lol ... I can dabble a bit though

Any help and/or guidance will be appreciated

    Thanks
    Kev

Have you created your tables and relationships? If so, please post a jpg of same. If not, I recommend that is a good place to start. Can you show us some code associated with your query and your button?

Thank you so much for the reply orange.

This problem has driven me crazy for the last few days now and would you believe it, just as you respond to my post I found the solution on another forum using google as a mentor.

Once again, many thanks to those that looked at my post and to you orange for replying. Now to figure out how to mark the post as 'solved'
