Does anyone know if Access 2003 will work on the new surface (either editions)? Thanks. K

What is 'new surface'?
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
surface pro is apparently going to run all legacy windows apps. surface rt currently has no access support, although I wouldn't be suprised to see some form of "reader"app which can use the database but will have limited creation abilities.
Thanks Jammer. It's the reader I would be particularly interested in. I'm trying to resist changing the database to SQL and having a web interface developed although I suspect it's only a matter of time!
The 'surface' is Microsoft's new tablet. I'm hoping it will fully integrate with a business network - a very real hole in the current tablet market. I have an iPad, which I love, but not for work!
I havena surface rt, bougt it for my wife. It's form and function are amazing, but I seriously question the whole RT concept. Who wants a computer that can do less? With no support for legacy applications, it's really dependant on future app development. Office RT has no Access, no Outlook, no Exchange or AD support, and the replacement Mail, People and Calendar apps leave alot to be desired. However, the Surface pro is touted as being a fully functional windows pc, with full office capabilities and support of all legacy apps, just smaller and ligter. I can't wait to get my hands on one. After using a surface, my labtop and tablet just seem archaic, however I still need to use my labtop for any real computing.
