Linking 2 Forms - From 2 Different Tables

    Hi,

I have a real frustrating problem.

I am using the DB template “DESKTOP CALL TRACKER”

I want to add a command button to the “Customers Details” Form that opens the “Call Details” Form. (That part is easy)
The problem I’m having is that I want the form to open with some of the fields filled in/linked to the previous record in the previous form (“Customers Details” Form)

I imagined this was possible by selecting “Open the form and find specific data to display” and linking two fields in the Command Button Wizard.
This did not work!!! It opens a blank “Call Details” form.

I have tried this in MS Access 2007 & 2010

2007= does not give the option to link fields as it displays no fields in the "Customers Details” form in the Command Button Wizard
2010= Does give you the option to link fields as it displays all the fields from "Customers Details” form in the Command Button Wizard, however it just displays a blank form.

I think there is a problem with the tables linking ...??

    Can anyone please HELP!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks
    Mark

This can be a little complicated. Review https://www.accessforums.net/forms/c...new-28021.html

Why not just initiate the call record on the Call List form?

I cannot initiate the call from the call list because I am using the DB for outgoing calls and I need to work from a list of customers and sort them by post/zip code.
