What is the AutoNumber function in a Query?

I know there is a AutoNumber function in Tables. I was wondering is there a AutoNumber function in a Query, or something that would count each row (EX. Row one value 1, Row two value 2, ...)?
    Thanx,
    A.

if you have selected the autonumber (usually ID) field when you made the query, it will display that data
