    filter table by multiple values

    Hi everyone,

Back in A2003, I could filter a table by the In() function with the table open in datasheet view. A2007 doesn't seem to want me to be able to do that. How do I filter a table by multiple values while in datasheet view to be able to delete some records.

    Background:
I get a datasheet in every month that, due to marketing to the same customers in different month, the YTD file I get has duplicate accounts. I have to delete one of the records, but the criteria for deletion aren't something I can query for. This is why I need it open in datasheet view.

My alternative is to make a table out of the duplicate entries, delete those from the original table, then append the cleaned accounts. This seems rather kludgy.

tl;dr How do I filter a table in datasheet view?

I don't have 2007, but could you create a query with the table involved and
    have your own IN (...)?

I'm surprised the ability to Filter would have been removed, but it sounds like things have been hidden quite well with the later versions.

Maybe I'm missing something, but in AC2007 with a table open in datasheet view, there are filters arrows in each of the field titles. Click on the arrow and Access will give you several filter options. Also on the Ribbon there is a whole section available to allow filtering.

This is very similar to the auto filter in Excel.

The filter options are there. However, i don't see any where I can filter by specific account numbers.

I have a table of 50k that I need to filter by about 150 individual account numbers. I used to be able to filter by In (Acct1, Acct2, Acct3, etc). Sure I can filter and sort by various grouping means, but I'm not finding anything to get to this level of detail.

Also, Orange, I cant use a query as I need to be able to delete records from the filtered list.

After running a query, which opens in a datasheet format, you can right click on a record and highlight it and then select delete record. You do need to be careful as once it is deleted, it is gone!!
