    Question New record error(s)

    Good morning AF,

I'm having a problem adding new records to my form. The record is actually able to be input, but only after 10 error dialog boxes are received that all say the same thing, "Field cannot be updated." After I click OK on all of the boxes, I am then able to enter data.

A little background on the problem. I've created this form (actually the entire database) from another that was pretty much identical. I did a "Save database as..." so I'm suspecting I have some old junk laying around that I don't need. However, I'm having a very hard time finding out where it is.

I've attached a copy of the database for review. The main form is frmClassified_PositionControl and the field that needs initial data is the SEID field.

Thanks for any help you can give.

The form query is a join of two tables with a one-to-many relationship. This makes the fields of the one side not editable. The tblEmployeeInfo should be a main form RecordSource and tblSalary should be a subform.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
