    Is It Possible to Tab out of a Subform?

    Does anyone know if there is a way to tab out of a subform, especially when it is in datasheet view?

    Thanks for your help.

    (TY: Ken Snell MVP) for reminding me of the Ctrl + Tab function.

    Because I am trying to set up a quick and easy database, I have placed a label control on the form to tell users to Press (Ctrl + Tab) to exit the subform.

    It works great for my needs in relation to Tab Order. Exiting the subform places the cursor in the next field on the Main Form that is expected based on the Tab Order.

    If the next field is another subform, then the cursor enters into the subform on the field that has the SetFocus.

    Similar Problem

    I'm new to this forum, and I'm having a similar situation. I have a data entry form with several subforms. The main form has two subforms: a main subform and a contact subform. The main subform has 14 subforms. I've set the tab order for each subform as well as the main form and things are working fine. Here is the tab order for the main form:
    Main Form ->
    Contact Subform ->
    Main Subform

    Here is where my questions come in. I can tab through the fields in the Main Form just fine and then into the Contact Subform with no trouble. However, for some reason, when I ctrl+tab out of the Contact Subform I do not go to the SetFocus field of the Main Subform. I go back to the beginning of the main form and advance to the next record instead of going to the first record of the Main Subform which is what I want to happen. Also, if I click into the Main Subform and tab through the fields and subforms, one of my subforms is skipped completely as though it isn't there. The only thing that I noticed about that particular subform compared to the others is it has many more fields than the others. The Main Subform also has a lot more fields compared to the others. Can anyone help me understand what is going on and where I can go to correct the issue? The Main Subform is a single form view, and the other subforms are datasheet views. Any ideas??

    Thanks in advance.

    John
