    2007 DB won't open in 2010

    Hello:

I had a DB created using 2007 (32 bit) and it worked perfectly.

I upgraded to 2010 (32 bit) and now I can't open the DB (using Windows 7 64 bit).

I even tried installing 2007 (32 bit) and still couldn't open the DB (I've uninstalled 2007 since it also didn't work).

Note: I can open the DB on my XP 32 bit laptop.

I get an error "your MS Access DB or project contains a missing or broken reference to the fie "MSINET.ocx" version 1.0"

    Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I'd be more than willing to pay for someone's time, if that could get my DB working again.

    Thanks.

    IG

Try opening while holding down a <SHIFT> key.

The DB opens if I hold down the shift key but none of the forms work.

I added the location of the file and now it opens to "visual basic application".

It looks like a debugging thing but not sure.

I get an Compile Error - can't find project or library.

Is it a reference that you need? Do you know how to check for missing references?

I'm pretty much worthless when it comes to MS Access.

I unchecked the above and I can open the DB and the main form now opens.

When I do a search I get a runtime error 3276, invalid DB object reference and when I debug it "DoCmd.OpenForm "frmSearchList" is highlighted.

To be honest, this is way above my head.

    Suggestions?

Do you have a form named frmSearchList?

    I do have the form.

When I double click it it say: invalid database reference.

So it is that form that is throwing the error. Open that form in design view and then <ALT>F11 and then Debug>Compile and see if it will highlight the error.

I did as you suggested and it didn't highlight anything.

So no compile errors but you still get an error when you try and run the form, right? What is the RecordSource of the form? Is it a query? Doe the query run by itself?
