    Split Database Error?

I'm coming across an error that I think stems from the splitting of the database.

I'm editing a table in the Back End database to include a lookup field and I'm getting the following error.

    Unrecognized database format 'C:\Users\tammy.laronde\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\ Access\ACWZUSR.ACCDU'

    Any ideas?

    Hi -

I found this link with an internet search; it relates to the exact error you are getting:

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...orum=accessdev

and as I thought, it is probably a corrupted file.

But a word of advice - don't use lookup fields in tables - they can give you all kinds of grief, especially when you use them in queries, or try to search on them. Use separate lookup tables instead, with joins in queries to see the lookup values.

    Hi John

    Thanks for that.

This issue seems to be more pervasive than I originally thought. It's also affecting the front end as well. I'm going to try to follow the directions for renaming the corrupt file and "hopefully" reinstall it. I agree with you about the lookups and I did implement that change. I basicall made a table with my lookup options and linked the table in the Relationship tool. That seems to have worked splendidly.

Cross you fingers that this fix works....

Well, now that's interesting - talk about a bug in the forum.

Text deleted for security reasons. J.G.

On the green bar at the top of your original post, there is a dropdown menu called "Thread Tools". The option to mark the thread as solved is in there.

Thanks John and yes. You shouldn't be able to mark my thread as solved. Very strange but it is solved so ... Great!!!
