ODBC Call Fail - Only when totals applied

I have 6 linked tables via ODBC. All tables can be opened and viewed with no problem. I can create select queries and results are displayed. I cannot click the totals and apply SUM to a numeric column. It does not give me a non-compatible field error, it gives me an odbc call fail which makes no sense.

The database was written in MS Access 2000 and has not worked properly since it was opened in MS Access 2007. I have searched the web for others reporting the issues and there are not many. I installed the latest hotfixes and SP3 with no luck.

Please let me know what other information would be helpful to troubleshoot.

    THANKS in Advance!

it may be related to this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/303257

also, are you sp3 is not the problem? office sp's have been reported to introduce more bugs than they fix. I know sp3 of one of the office versions was a complete disaster, per Bob Larson on AWF.

IMO, the best way to avoid MS mistakes is to not install any of their 'fixes', at least until two or three years go by and the media has a chance to cover any defects found by professionals.

SP3 is installed and the Jet 4.0 engine is installed.

sp3 might be causing it. try googling the problems with office sp3. Jet 4.0 comes with your office package. sorry I can't help you more!
