Maximised form not keeping its maximised status

I open the main form of my project as Maximized.


I can then open a second Popup form, which in turn can open a third form that is also Maximized (the Popup form is made invisible at this point, so it is not in front of the third form).
However, when I close the third form and make the popup form visible again, the main form is no longer Maximized.

Can't figure out why this happening. I have tried various suggestions of putting Docmd.Maximize in the Activate event of the main form, or in the close event of the third form, but nothing works.

I can get round the problem by not having the second form as a popup, which makes it maximized also, but I don't want that.

Great, thanks. That works - had not thought of re-opening the first form although already open.
