Photo Attachment

Hello,



I'm attaching photos to customers in our database but some times the photo is turned upside down.
I have try to open photo, rotate photo and save photo, But the photo stays upside down.

Is there something I can do to photos before attaching them to make them be right side up?

I'm have taught myself how to build the database for our company.
So I'm thinking this is probably user error.

Thank You for any advise!
(side note, I do not understand writing code that well. Please keep me from having to do it.)

By "attaching" do you mean Attachment data type field?

Open and rotate where?

Exactly how are you displaying photo - with Image control?

Consider that saving objects in db uses up Access 2GB size limit.

As noted, storing files in Access tables is not a good idea. If you did that, then opened the file (e.g. in image editing software) and rotated it, that image is not the one you stored. You'd have to delete it in Access and re-enter it in your table. Best to link to images stored on a hard drive so that a) they are current, and b) to keep the db size from getting too large.

Photos taken with digital cameras or cell phones today have the image orientation stored in the EXIF data.
Modern photo viewing applications read this data and rotate the photo accordingly for viewing.
In Access, it is possible to use the WIA libraries to read the orientation from the EXIF and rotate the image.
