    Cant restore database

Some data went missing from one of my databases so I am trying to restore a backup to see if I can get it back.

I am logged in as an admin and using SSMS and clicking restore database. Then I select Device and choose file and choose the .bak file I want to import. I change the Destination to the new name I want, check that the files are set to restore as that new name and then click OK.

    However, it keeps failing.

    Restore of database 'TestRestore' failed
Exclusive access could not be obtained because the database is in use.

Why cant I restore this file to a new databse?

I was able to get this resolved by deselecting Tail log and selecting Close connections

So just to ask, was the data stored in the main Access database as well, was the data linked in another Access db or was the data in something else like SQL?

    NM, see the SSMS now.
