Db Table record position via Access and VB6 appear to be different - any Help?

When I list the Table in ACCESS I see records A,B,C,D as ABCD. When I access the same records from VB6 I get ADCB! I will post the same query on VB6 Forums. The problem is for deleting Dups - I'd like to delete the earliest Dup, but for some reason when I access the records from the table they appear backwards! I hadn't thought of it, but maybe I'll just try inverting the SORT!

Difficult to advise without seeing some example data - “earliest’ is defined as what? Oldest date? Lowest pk? Something else?
