I'd like to run a SELECT WHERE query against a table in a different Access database. Select three fields from the foreign table and end up with those fields in a table in my working database.
Can that be done in Access? How?

Link your external table in your target file and create an append query to add the records from source (linked) to target (local). I think you can set up an append query to push records into another database but not sure about being able to "pull" them as you are requesting.

Cheers,
For "pull" try
Code:Select * FROM tableNamehere IN "C:\blah\blah\blah\DatabaseNameHere.FileExtensionHere";
