Post Enter data bei scanning an EAN-code and enrich "real" data

    Hi all,

I have a knot in myhead and need your help.

I need to get atable like this in the end with only 2 manual steps:

ID Date Time CardCode EmployeeCode EmployeeName EANCode DeviceType Occurrance DeviceNo
auto Timestamp Timestamp HEX, 28 digits 10 digits Text Number Text Text Number
    1 14.10.2022 16:52 2ebf770fffff12e0c0148a000834 148a000834 Abc Def 495495 Scanner On loan 459
    2 15.10.2022 02:35 2ebf770fffff12e0c0148a000834 148a000834 Abc Def 495495 Scanner Returned 459
3 This code is being scanned calculated Referenz to EmployeesTable This code is being scanned Referenz to DeviceTable Referenz to DeviceTable Referenz to DeviceTable

But here is my firstproblem: I cannot build a relationship between the calculated EmployeeCode andthe EmployeeTable th add the "real name"

The second one isthe process: it is possible, that one employee takes or brings mor than onedevice. With this table the employee needs to scan his CompanyID CardCode pereach device. This is not very charming and I thought maybe I can use a form foreach employee with x rows for the devices and occurances. But my tests weren'tvery successful. All not simple enough.

Does somebody havean idea how to prepere this worklfow and with which tool? Excel or Access or???

    I would reallyappreciate any help!

    Thank you inadvance!

    Nic

    Hi,

the best tool for the job depends greatly on:
    * how do you want to work : an app on the smartphone, a webpage, desktop application.
    * your budget
    * the workload: do you have to record data for a few employees, or a large company where a lot of employees have several devices? Will several people search or enter data at the same time
    * your knowledge: if you start talking table(s) and databases, start with looking how a database is build and invest a bit in basic knowledge of relational systems. You can find a lot of pointers to this topic on this forum. If you are good with excel, you might prefer this tool.
