I've got a personal project I'm working on and was wondering if I'm headed for trouble.
I've written a little python gui utility for searching and browsing data from via an online service API.
Now I'd like to be able to connect to an access db via odbc from python to import data collected using this tool. In fact, I already am doing this.
My question is there anything I need to be cautious of with using my accdb file with an access front end and a python script (odbc) at the same time? I haven't done anything like this before. Is this a recipe for corruption?
The workflow would be from the access FE just click a button that uses shell to start the python script. I find the data i need in my python script and click import. The script inserts records into the access db and closes. The access db refreshes and moves on, pretending like we just returned from calling a 'native' modal form.
It's just me, and personal use. The script wouldn't be rapidly executing tons sql statements or anything like that. The python tool would just import data 1 to 10 records at a time.
