    Production Tracking

I am considering a data base to track production of a manufacturing line. I have the following information to handle:

Part Number (there are approximately 10)
Parts produced per day by part number
    scrap parts by part number
    rework parts by part number

I would like the ability to querie parts produced within a date range, parts scrapped by part number, etc.
Is access the correct choice. My initial thought is yes but I have built a total of 1 database, used to track membership attendance at events.
I have enjoyed reading on here over the past couple months and look forward to your input. Thanks!

what have you read on here? any good information manufacturing databases?

Access is fine if you're not larger than, say, McKesson. And then again, you can never go wrong with Access if you have a stable backend online. how big is the company?

Access should be just fine for you it sounds like.

We're a small company, about 75 employees. Ihave read many of the posts at my experience level (new), plus searched for production to see what was already answered. I started with one table with "entry date", "part number"', "parts produced", "scrap", and "rework". I have a querie for beginning and end date, plus a form for the data entry. I'll keep tinkering and breaking it until I come up with a worthy question!
