Formatting text of an export

Is there a way for me to format the text used in exports? I want the fonts to be the same between the source data and where it's going.

it depends. for instance, if you are exporting to HTML you can use allen browne's export function and simply add the <font> tags in where appropriate. if youre exporting to xml, chances are you can't.

you can change the font in an access database? how do you do that? I wasn't aware...or maybe I've just never needed it. maybe someone else can help you sir. I have no idea if it's possible, but I do know that the export wizard in access allows you to check a box that says something like 'save formatting on export'.

I must be on a dofferent page. I've created a form from the table of main data. It's the information on the form that I need to export to Excel. When I follow the steps you've outlined, it does not ask me if I weant to save my text formatting for the export.

if I take a form and right click on it and hit EXPORT, I see this:



yours should be no different, unless of course you're using 03 which I see you are! in that case, you may want to check the OPTIONS menu to see if there are 'export' options that comply with this.

There has to be a way to set the font style and point size used in the data exported from forms, so I don't have to change it to the default font I use for everything.

I'm sure there is Sarge, but I don't know it.

If you're absolutely set on doing this, program it. That is unproductive use of your time, but that's just my opinion. good luck with it!

Aje's right about having to use VB to program the export if you want that kind of control over the Excel Workbook.

I've never used it personally, but there's a type of VB programming called Office Automation that will do exactly what you're wanting. If you have any experience with programming in Access, it should be fairly easy to figure out (just Google/Bing "Office Automation").

I found it! Tools.....Options.....Datasheet.......the export to Excel picks up the datasheet formatting apparently.
Now if there was only a way to set the datasheet up so that the data is centered in the cells instead of left justified.....
