Hi, I'm using Access2010. If I create or amend a module I do not get the [Yes] [No] [Cancel] popup window.
I have to close the database to save any changes.
Is there a way around this, so I can save without closing?

Select Save, under File
Alternatively you could use Ctrl+S

I have a OCDish habit of hitting ctrl s about every 10 seconds when I'm doing just about anything on a computer, and especially when I'm developing or working in an m$ office app.
I think you will find that it's normal behaviour for the vb editor to save any changes when you close it and I don't think there's any option around that. AFAIK, there is no such thing as 'undoing' by not saving before closing - at least with Access 365. I do save periodically too because I wouldn't rely on an auto save thing to save any code changes after a crash. BTW, you don't have to close the db to experience this; just the editor.

Doesn't it have to save before it'll compile or run code anyway? I could be way off base here...
I don't know since I don't rely on closing to save. It's always been my impression that a compile wouldn't save so I've always saved first then compiled just in case there was a crash when I compiled. Since closing seems to save anyway, I'd say there's no way to know.
