Hide "Add Tables" Panel in Query Designer

As a result of a recent update to MS Access 2016, when I open the query designer there is a panel on the right side titled "Add Tables." I cannot find the setting to permanently hide that.

Does anyone know if it's possible? And, if so, how do I do it?

    Thanks!

No you cannot hide it - I haven't found a way. This behavior also is in Access 2010 (32-bit).

I have always hated it, but I have it undocked so it opens at the bottom of the screen. And it is easy to close.

As ssanfu said, this is just a variation on the old Add Tables dialog that has been around since A2003 or earlier.
The only difference is that is now docked at the right of the screen whereas it used to be a floating dialog box
I also don't believe it can be removed permanently

Whilst you can drag tables/queries to the query design window, it provides another equally good method of adding tables.
I prefer drag & drop but others may prefer to select from a list

I've disabled Access updates so I haven't seen that yet. At least it looks like it's not a modal dialog? If that's true, I'd consider it an improvement.

Overall it is an improvement as its docked to the right so more out of the way. Its also larger so you can see more tables without scrolling.
It can easily be closed if not wanted

Thanks. But is it modal like the old one? Or can you ignore it and go to, say sql view for example? I take it that it appears when you open a new query only?

Sorry - forgot to answer that part
The new dialog is NOT modal so you can change to SQL view with it open - it disappears automatically - change back to design view and it reappears if it was open before.
It doesn't appear when you open an existing query but you can get it back at any time by clicking the Add Tables button.

    Overall, definitely an improvement

    LOL...
Not sure why they've done it but the new dialog box has 4 sections: Tables, Links, Queries, All.
The first section only shows local tables. Linked tables are in the second.
Must have seemed a good idea to someone on the A-team.
