Query to link two tables from different DBs becomes uneditable

Hi all,



I have a query that uses two different linked tables from different databases. When I open either table by itself I can edit the data within each of them. However, when I use a simple query to join them, I cannot edit the data in the query. I'm using a simple join query so I am having a tough time understanding why this is happening. I have done things like this many times in the past and never had an issue.

SELECT tblProjects.*, [Project List].*
FROM tblProjects LEFT JOIN [Project List] ON tblProjects.SERNum = [Project List].ProjectID;

Ah, thank you. It looks like it's probably because one of the tables I am linking to does not have a primary key. Unfortunately I don't maintain that database so I'll have to get with the owner to see if he'll add a key.
