Many to Many join table... Now what?

I am having a tough time getting my head around many to many join tables. I have watched countless videos and read several book and I get why I need the join table, what I don't understand is how to populate the table and use the data. I am currently building a library database and have a second database for work planned. My library is where I am currently. In my entry form for books I have the need for many authors to create many books and for many books to have multiple authors. How do I populate the authors table and how do I populate the authors-books join table and use that data in my books table? This probably has been asked like a million times but I am not sure how to ask the search engine to find it.

Have a look at this DB.
It's a bit backwards for your use perhaps - The main form should be for authors and the subform for books.
You should be able to make the adjustment - if not, post the problem.
If you want to approach the solution using your DB instead, post it here and we can take a look.
