    Duplicate Order causing major error

We run a sales company using a database that (to a novice like me) seems rather complex. With none of us being MSAccess experts, we've had great success with the database for years. However, in the last week or so we've encountered a major problem. Somehow deleting a single record is causing the database to completely stop working. If we drill down to what I'd call the "Item Level" all the information just shows #NAME. The weird thing is somehow this entry duplicated itself under another customer entry. It's all very bizarre. Any ideas on where I should start to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated! I'd be happy to post some screen shots if that helps. I'm sure I'm not providing enough info to be helpful, but if anyone would be willing to point me in the right direction I'd be grateful!

How do you know a "single record delete" is the cause/underlying issue?
    What record was deleted?
When was your last backup previous to this "delete issue"?
Do you have a log/audit file of all database modifications?

Is deleting records a common practice, or was the deletion a special situation in an attempt to correct a problem?
What table name was involved in the deletion?

The weird thing is somehow this entry duplicated itself under another customer entry
We have no idea what "entry" means here.

Is your DB set up as a multi user client/server application? If so, is everyone experiencing the problem?

Posting some screen shots might help, as we just have to guess without them.

If posting pictures, clarify where you see this
If we drill down to what I'd call the "Item Level" all the information just shows #NAME.
My guess is that it's in a form, not a table. Also guessing that
Somehow deleting a single record is causing the database to completely stop working
doesn't mean that it won't open, assuming you see the #Name error in a form. I don't recall ever seeing it in a table, but "stop working" could mean the db forms won't open and you're looking directly at tables. Please be as specific and clear as possible. Thanks.

Deleting records should be a rare occurrence. If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Something has changed, I think this is a logical conclusion.

You must try to figure what was the last modification to the access database/form/query that is related with the reported problem - and also who did it and why.
