How To - Disable Fields or Text Box, when another field has certain data

So I am working with 2010, 32bit, at one point I managed to create so that certain controls are disabled unless I xxx field is "XXX" so only when it is the type they show.. I want to add more to other places but omg I can not see how I have it working.. so scratching my head.. I have no written any SQL, all macro and auto built.. whole thing is very large..

    Any idea?

Possibly using Conditional Formatting for textbox and combobox.
