Remote App - Use of Access.accdb entry does not carry over to original database

    Hello,

I am looking for an article someone could point me to, or just a brief explanation as to why this is happening, and any workarounds known:

In order to coordinate between database users who are each building reports and needing to share a copy, but who are also remote, we are copying a large file back to a shared drive each time.

One solution is to use "Remote Apps" within a Virtual Desktop Interface and connect to the shared DB, vs making copies. that sounds great.

When we tested this, we created a record remotely, and then inspected the original database, only to find a record was never appended there. The file was the exact same file. What is occurring here?

    thanks!

since we dont know how youre connecting, cant say.
I have used Virtual desktops to enter data and it works.
if the user FE app is connected to a central BE in some way, then the data should come thru.

thanks for the reply... sorry for my delayed follow-up

EDIT: There is no front/back end to the database. Just a standalone .accdb

we are simply using a VDI to open what appears to be the exact same file, in the same location, but when accessed normally through the shared drive any data added is not present.

This does not ring any bells for experts here?

    Thanks again

In your virtual environment open the database and click on file and look at Info to make sure you are truly opening the same file.

I also wonder if your problem is not related to the ones explained in the links below:
