    Keeping track

I am trying to create a relational database for keeping track of records storage boxes in and out of our storage facility. I have a database of all boxes with a unique IF for each box and I want to not only change the current storage status of each box but want to keep track of the dates, times and person who checked the box out, back in, destroy date etc. so that at the end of the month I can bill the correct department for the activity associated with each box. Each box could go in and out of storage multiple times per year. I know zero VBA and want to keep it that way if at all possible.

How would one best keep track of changes to a record in a database.

Microsoft provides many Access templates for tracking.
Check out Asset Tracking or even Lending Library, and others for suitability to being adapted to your needs.

This is also a good place to research. http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_models/

Here is a link to information on database design and planning. This is more important than vba at this point in your project.
My recommendation is for you to spend 45-60 minutes working through 1 or 2 of the tutorials from RogersAccesslibrary identified in the link - probably the best use of your time.
