    Question Report View Height Problem

    Hi,

I want to view the Report in Report View as a Form View should be, how to get rid of the blank space below the footer?

    Current setting:
    -Report-
    Pop Up: Yes
    Auto Resize: Yes
    Fit to Page: Yes
Border Style: Sizable (Should be Thin)

I want to make it looks like the image number 2.

    Please Help.

    I can't replicate your issue.

Changes to layout are best done in the design view
Go into Design view & remove any white space at the bottom of the section with the black bar.
If you can't fix it, post a screenshot of the design view

Where do the lhe label & text in the footer end up?
Click on the Report Footer section and look at its properties
e.g. Can Shrink = Yes ; Force New Page = None

OK - suggest you upload a stripped down version of the db with that report & anything needed to make it work
Are the items with RED text hidden?

You will kick yourself when I tell you...
    Changes made:
    a) Removed layout frame from the footer controls - these OFTEN cause issues
    b) Fit To Page = No; Autosize = No

Name:	ReportFixed.PNG

Size:	17.6 KB
ID:	32300

See attached for fixed report as well as the original

I had to look up what currency VND was ....

FWIW - Personally I NEVER use report view as I see few benefits from using it - much prefer print preview !

Weird, i removed the layout, i removed the footer content, change the setting of the report, detail, header footer property to the same. But it still doesn't work like yours. This is so confusing.

Oh btw this is just for personal use, i never print these anyway, so i just want the view like a small form.

Your report is nice kinda close to what i need but it still has some blank space marked in red, not sure if it's just me.

Did you change the settings like I said?
If you wrongly set Fit to page =yes, Access will 'helpfully' add white space at the bottom because you told it to do so
Autosize may or may not be relevant so I set that to No as well

I removed all the white space but it may change with different screen sizes or resolutions.
Go into design view and slightly reduce the height. Save it. View in report view
If still not right, repeat using trial and error

Yes i did "Fit to page=no, auto resize=no", i even removed all the footer content then collapse the space, then add a simple label, but it still doesn't work.

Weird. Try importing my FIXED report into your db. Does that work correctly?
Assuming it does, there must be another setting(s) different in your version & mine

e.g. did you still use a frame around the content in your footer?

I think i found the problem, It's the Document window option. With yours it changed to Overlapping while im using Tabbed.

However the solution still has some problem. I have to resize the design window to match what i want, although it stays like that throughout the session, if I close the database and open it again, it reset the size. Is that true?

Sorry - I always change to overlapping windows immediately I look at a database - much better IMO.
The resizing on reopening the db is a frequent issue - if I were you I'd stop fretting and move on to something else now...!
