    HELP - Overcoming Access Limitiations???

    Hello all,

I am trying to setup a database for a test that I do at work. I have attached a spread sheet Example Sheet-01.zip to show an example of what I am trying to re-create. I am far from an advanced user when it comes to Access. I can setup basic databases but I would like to learn more and progress to the next level.

    Anyway, my issue is this...

When I create the table, with all of the fields I want, but the time I am done, Access tells me that I am out of field space. 90% of the information will number fields rounded to the nearest decimal place (ie 10.2).

I have tried a few different approached, but each time Access cannot handle what I am trying to do. I know this is lack of knowledge on my part. Can someone please give me some guidance as to how to approach the table structure for this?

    Thanks!

Create a normalized table structure, set all the fields to the correct data types and the text fields to the correct length, without any formatting or lookups in the properties section. This is a basic spreadsheet and should not exceed any limitations.

access should do this. Im not sure how you designed your table, but this can be done.
    currency fields hold 4 decimals
double has 7 decimal digits (float)
    plenty.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
