Sending out the front end of a split database

I am ready to have users use the database and need to have them set up the front end on their computers. What is the best way to do this, i.e. send a link and tell them to save (some may not and try to work off the main FE).

This will be used by random employees and basically whoever wants to access it should be able to.

My users wouldn't even know where the central copy is. Most of us use some sort of utility that the users actually start. It would typically check for a new version, copy it to the user's PC if there is one, and start the application. I wrote my own, but there are freely available utilities like this one:
