    Which function to be use for showing balance quantity in a report?

    I m working on inventory management system. In that I want to show the balance quantity after issuing a product to a user. How it possible to reflect the correct balance quantity in a report after every issue status. If there is return status then quantity should be added to the main quantity. Please help me for the logic. I want to reflect the balance in the report.

    If your database is well designed (normalized) then it should be a simple sum of the transactions.
