    About Grouping

When I add a group, in design mode the response is "Group Header" showing at the top of my Detail section. Assuming there are the normal three sections of a group, "header", "Detail" and "Footer", 1) How do I navigate to the "Detail" section of the group so I can add controls?
    2) How do I position the group within the "Detail" section of the report?

in the section where you added the group you should see a More> option. Click on that and select 'with a footer section'

you don't place a group within a detail section. Groups are nested with the detail section being at the 'bottom'.

So if I just want to group some controls together I can't control the position of the group within the report's detail section?

What I'm wanting to do with groups is designate a "group" of controls and stipulate that that group be "keep together".

I solved the problem by breaking the detail section of the report into multiple groups and setting each group to "Keep Together".
