    Excel copying over data

I have people at work here who use a financial system where they can export excel files. When they have an excel file opened and then they open a new excel file, data from the new excel file opens over the top of the excel file that is currently open. It takes the cells from the newly opened file and pastes them over the top of cells from the currently opened excel doc.

Sorry if it is not very clear but any help would be apreciated

Hello, This is the access forums. Try googling an excel forum. Or more specifically excel VBA.

In your new thread it might be handy to post some example documents to help explain your point too!

It's not doing what you say it is, i.e. overwriting data in the other spreadsheet; it only looks like it is. Click the "restore" button - the middle one of the three on the upper right corner of the screen - and you should see both open spreadsheets.

Please reply to this thread with any new information or opinions.
