Thank you Micron I appreciate all your help.
Stephenson,
Do you have samples of your class, type and model? Just to give readers a clear picture.
Do you have a data model that you can test against your requirements with some sample test data?
Here's a technique we used to use during design refinement.
@Micron,
It took around 15 minutes to create the tables in Access. I'm poor - don't have any fancy store bought relationship building software.ssanfu, you have way too much time on your hands!
Do you actually use Access to create a bunch of tables, then create the relationships? That would seem to take a long time (and I can type). Or are you using some sort of db relationship building software to speed things up?
And I was just demonstrating how the tables are arranged can make a difference on how you think about the data/tables/flow.
I didn't try to make suggestions on the fields because I think (I know) you are much more qualified in this area. (just stating a fact - and I agree with you about the tables)
The table layout in the relationship window along with the "_PK" / "_FK" suffixes makes it easier for me to design tables/queries/forms/reports.
And, yes, being retired allows me (us?) a certain amount freedom with my (our) time..??
Yes, retired too. But I think you suffer from a common retiree syndrome - time flies when you're having fun. 15 minutes for that? You either had a whole lot of fun, or you're a big fibber Or someone set your clock back when you weren't looking.
The more we hear silence, the more we begin to think about our value in this universe.
Paraphrase of Professor Brian Cox.
Clock??? Clock??? What is that??
I did a lot of copying and pasting. (and I am home alone - sometimes bored out of my skull...)
So, yeah, I had a whole lot of fun!!!
