    Subreport criteria not working

In generating a report with a subreport I have criteria of a field set in both the report query and the subreport query. The subreport is showing all records and not selecting based on the criteria. The report works correctly and shows only those records based on the criteria. I saw a post a few weeks back that said criteria does not work for a subreport but there is VB that can be put in to filter like criteria is supposed to. HELP

did you set the sub report properties:
    LINK MASTER FIELDS
    LINK CHILD FIELDS

to the matching fields so they ONLY show the filtered data?

Yes, the subreport is linked properly so that without any criteria set all is well.

Link it on more fields - whatever your criteria is.

Sorry, I don't understand what this would do. I have a field in my query for my subreport with east, west, north, south. In my query I put "east" as the criteria but all records show up in my report. Main report works fine. I think there is VBA I can use to select only the "east" in my subreport but I have never used VBA before. Thanks for the reply, though.

The field has a name, e.g. compasspoint. Add compasspoint to the linking fields between main report and subreport. Are you saying that you have tried that and it hasn't worked?
