    Controlling autonumber

    Hi,

I have an autonumber field in my form. I use it to show next available number, when a new item/record is created.

When I start creating a new record (filling the fields with data) it shows the next number as it is supposed to. However, if I then undo all my actions, thereby leaving the form without saving the new record, then the autonumber field has still counted 1 number forward. Is there any way to prevent it from doing this?

So it only counts 1 number forward if a new record is actually made.

Thank you very much in advance!
