Compressing the Database in Microsoft Access 2007

    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to Microsoft Access 2007 and I would like to send my data via email. How would I compress my data so I can load the data in email and then send it to someone?

Thanks for everyone's help. I appreciate it.

You click on the office button in the top left, select manage and then compact and repair.

You can place it in a ZIP file if you want, by right clicking on your desktop and then scroll down the menu to >> new >> compressed.

well the advice you've received so far is correct - am not sure your question is clear. yes one does a compact/repair to reduce the file size inside Access. yes definitely you should zip an Access file in order to attach it to an email - - both because it reduces its size and it neuralizes the active code so it will not be potentially mis-identified as a virus attachment and stripped off by firewalls.

but per your question this isn't 'sending the data' - - it is sending the entire db i.e. forms, reports, etc. If your intent is just to send data then you have to determine in what format? do an export to excel or csv? import just tables into a second db?...perhaps I am over interpreting your question......
