I take that message as there is extraneous code that is incapable of being managed by the import process. Does the worksheet defined have more columns than the table in Access does?

Importing Excel files into Access is very often problematic.
The main issue is that when importing Excel files, Access does not let you specify the Data Type of each field. It tries to "guess" what each is by looking at the first 10 rows of data. Unfortunately, sometimes it guesses wrong, and data below the 10th row may blow the whole thing up.

What I often do is export my Excel file to a CSV or Tab-Delimited file, and then import that file into Access, where the Import Wizard is evoked and you have the power to specify the Data Type of every field. That usually seems to do the trick for me.
