Is it possible to pull data from server into Access?

Actually, I am not an IT person, not sure how to describe the question better. We use SAS in workplace, and work related data are stored on server. We have SAS based application (I don't know who build it), and current employees use username/password to log into the SAS application and view data there.

I have built an Access-based tool, so I know a little bit Access, although it was a simple tool. I am wondering if it is possible to build an Access-based tool to pull some data from server into Access file? Maybe I can put my username/password in the access code.

Is it possible for Access to interact with server? If yes, could someone give me some hints how to do it? I just need some instructions now, and will try to figure it out if it is accomplish-able. I would like to perform some data analysis in Access, if I can pull data into Access, I can build some buttons in Access to perform data analysis.

    Thanks.

Yes, create an ODBC connection to your server. This is in windows System tools, computer management, ODBC.
add a new connection, give server address, user, password. (Save password)

then you can add the table into Access and run queries on it.

If they won't give you these connections, sometimes you can export data to excel, then import THAT into access for reporting.
