    Splitting database

    Hello,

I currently have a database that consists of only tables (mydb.accdb). These tables hold data that is read from using VBA with DAO in Excel. I did not split this database since I thought the only purpose of doing that is for when you have forms/queries/reports for which other users need to use simultaneously.

Is there any purpose/benefit to splitting a database that only has tables to begin with?

    Thank you

    I don't think so.
If it only has tables, what would you be splitting?!

I didn't know if it modified the table/backend file at all from a multi-user sharing perspective.

No, I am pretty sure it doesn't.
I say this because I know some people set up a "split" database environment from scratch, simply by creating two separate databases (and never running and sort of program to "split" it).
