What makes a subform stop working?

I accidentally deleted the subform from the tabbed form. When I reinserted the subform, it no longer synced with each record. Fortunately I had backed up the file and now I'm able to continue on with last night's backup. Question is -- why did it stop working?

Sounds like the master/child link properties of the subform control did not get set.

No that turned out to not be the case -- but I got it to work after all. Thanks, though, for your input. Let it suffice to say that I went back and further studied a zipped database that Ssanfu had provided, thus allowing me to identify what I was doing wrong.

Glad you got it sorted. For the benefit of other users, what was the problem?

Oh, I was hopeful that no one would ask that cause it was really stupid -- but here goes. I learned the hard way that when you want to re-insert your subform, it's not just a simple matter of drag/drop the existing subform onto the page. You must drag/drop the associated QUERY!

Good to know. I guess I typically use the control wizard rather than drag and drop, so I've never run into that.
