Searching for Referenced File on startup, isctrls.ocx. No code in use. No references- isctrls.ocx

I recently began using an Access 2002/03 DB mainly data tables, in Access 2007.
It has only one very simple form, with no code. I link to it from the Access application.

But each time I open this DB, after a few seconds, it begins Searching For A referenced File: isctrls.ocx.

It will not stop the search unit it scans what seems like my whole PC.
Closing the search dialog causes it to open a new dialog.

I have searched everywhere for this reference, but there is no place to look.

Wouldn't this reference be, only be in a form?

    Any advice appreciated.

Did you look in references through the VBA editor?

Open any module, (or, if you have no modules, open the immediate pane with Ctrg-G) then from the menu, select Tools - References.

My guess is that in the list of checked references, you will see one that refers to the file isctrls.ocx, (look in the bottom part of the popup window for the actual file names) and it will have a "MISSING" annotation. If you really don't think you need it, uncheck it, then close and reopen the database.

It should work fine if there is no need for that reference; it is probably left over from when you were running an earlier version of MS Access.

    Thanks John that solved it.

It was listed as "Missing" reference.
