    Simple Text criteria working oddyly

    Win 8 Access 2002

I have a single table containing Song Titles plus some other info. If I run a simple query against all the records come up. If I filter using the song title Momo all entries come up EXCEPT ID 9992

If I put a wildcard * anywhere in Momo the record appears again. I’ve gone through the misspelling, spaces, and other usual mistakes tests and copied/pasted.

I can’t work out what the problem is. Sample db1 attached

    Please help

Well, there is special character in that record, like end of line or something. I couldn't see it either but tried to enter new text there, nothing changed, then I exported table to mysql db and it showed

Name:	momo.jpg
Views:	6
Size:	261.3 KB
ID:	24227

So I ran update query to replace this field with text "Momo" and it works properly now.

Just simply put cursor at the end of text in that field, press Delete and you'll find out that text is actually MomoMomo

Thanks for that. I exported to excel. Still couldn't see any extra characters but copied the line from excel then pasted back into table with that particular record deleted and everything worked! Goodness know what was going on but thanks for the tip. Once I knew it was an extra character it was just a case of finding a way of losing it. Peter
