hi all,
I having an issue with the ≥ operator not transferring with transfertext in msaccess 2003. the result is that it ends up being transfer as '=' rather than '≥'.
Is there any other transfertext function which would work?
thanks

Are you importing or exporting data?
Are you using Fixed Width or Delimited as your option?
If Delimited, what delimiter are you using?
What is the full value of this field?
What data type are you choosing for this field on your import/export?
exporting data
axexportdelim
field: "XXX ≥ 8"
string
So what are you choosing as the delimiter?
Also, how are you able to get "≥"? Are you using some special character set?
I typically see it like this in most Office programs: ">=".
It may be it cannot find an equivalent for that special character, or you may be limited to the type of characters you can export.
It looks like TransferText is naturally limited in the characters it can export, without doing something special.

thanks JoeM, are there other types of functions in access which can export that character? It looks like TransferText is naturally limited in the characters it can export, without doing something special.

I honestly cannot say. I have never had to deal with that issue.
Did you try options 4 or 5 from that linked article I gave you?
BTW, where did that data come from? How did you get that value in Access in the first place?
it's results for biology testing. I think I might have pasted it a field.
