    Key field case conflict

I have a key table that is linked to other tables. I am trying to enter a like key with lower case characters but access will not let me.

The key #1 value is 3DB1 and I am trying to add a new key value of 3Db1 and access gives me an error that I cannot add a duplicate value.

    All responses are appreciated ..............

Access does not use case sensitivity. so 3DB1 and 3Db1 and 3dB1 and 3db1 are all the same to Access.

OK, that's what I was afraid of; but thought there may have been a miracle discovered!

    Thanks

Access default is non-case sensitive. Case sensitivity can be somewhat enforced in queries and VBA. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/209674
