My Postage stamp database has a A-Z listing of Countries.
By adding one or more spaces into the listing I can produce a listing :-

Georgia

German East Africa

German New Guinea

German South-West Africa

German States - Baden

German States - Bavaria

German States - North German Confederation

German Occupation 1N)Under Belguim Occupation

German Occupation 3N)A.M.G. Joint Occupation

German Offices in Morocco

German Offices in Turkey

Ghana

Gibraltar ...................... etc" Q) Is there anyway that I can force "Germany" to follow "Georgia"? By using the single Text field of Countries only. Can I add a AscII, non visable, character after "German" to achieve this.

You could add a new field -- MySortField -populate it as desired-- to sort in any custom manner you want.

You could also step back and identify precisely what these names/labels mean to you. Then add a sort field(s) for each of the "entities/sub-entities" to ensure the order you need. And even "roll-up" the sub-entities with the entities to preserve the "hierarchy" you establish.

So the direct answer to your question is - No.

Follow Orange's suggestion for a sort value field.
